NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Alternate Side Parking has been suspended for Monday in anticipation of a nor’easter set to dump 13 to 17 inches of snow in New York City, Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced on Saturday.

Parking meters will remain in effect on Monday. Mamdani says Alternate Side Parking has been suspended to better facilitate snow clearing after the storm.

A blizzard warning will be in effect from 6 a.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday for New York City, according to the National Weather Service. The worst impacts are expected Sunday night into Monday morning, with blowing snow, near zero visibility, whiteout conditions, potential power outages and tree damage.

On Sunday, more than 5,000 sanitation workers will move to rotating 12-hour shifts to keep streets clear.
