Superstar sprinter Ka Ying Rising returns to extend his win streak to 18 in a row Saturday night at Sha Tin in the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Cup, a World Pool betting race. Post time is at midnight EST, 9 p.m. PST.
Free past performances are available at Horse Racing Nation as well as full card selections. And for more free handicapping information, visit the Hong Kong Jockey Club website.
Saturday night marks the moment. KA YING RISING (No. 1) attempts to claim sole ownership of the all-time longest win streak in Hong Kong – 18 straight victories, a mark that would surpass the great SILENT WITNESS, whose record of 17 held this honor from April 24, 2005, to Jan. 26, 2026.
From a handicapping perspective, there is almost no evidence Ka Ying Rising can lose. He will likely sit shorter than 1-10 and is projected to dominate the early pace, late pace and overall speed of the race. The most telling statistic: Ka Ying Rising’s average lifetime speed figure exceeds the lifetime top speed figure of every competitor in the field.
Therefore, we are handicapping this race for the minor placings. Of the rest, HELIOS EXPRESS (No. 3) is the superior talent. In Ka Ying Rising’s last eight Hong Kong races, HELIOS EXPRESS was the closest Hong Kong-based competitor in five of those starts (never closer than two lengths back). Of Saturday’s starters, LUCKY SWEYNESSE (No. 2) and RAGING BLIZZARD (No. 9) achieved this feat once each.
Thus, the value puzzle to solve is which horses to include for third and which to leave off entirely. The computer projections are muddied, with clear disagreements between the fair odds projections and speed figure projections involving RED LION (No. 4) and RAGING BLIZZARD (No. 9).
Putting it all together, we’ll try to go tight on top with the 1 singled on top and the 3, 8 the only options in second.Â
