A construction worker was killed Thursday while working on a tunnel box that will take the Gateway rail tunnel under Hudson Yards in Manhattan, authorities said.
Officials said the worker fell from a high worksite location over the tunnel box concrete floor. All work was suspended on the Hudson Yards Concrete casing project while the incident is under investigation by Amtrak police.
The man was an employee of the New York Concrete Corporation, one of the contractors working on the concrete tunnel box.
