New York — New York City and Long Island are being hit hard with snow today.
As of 8 a.m. Monday, the most snow reported so far was 20 inches in Suffolk County on Long Island, according to the National Weather Service.
Central Park had 9.3 inches as of the last recording at 1 a.m. Monday.
Heavy snow is expected today, so these totals are sure to rise.
New York City is expected to get 4 to 8 more inches today with strong winds tonight, according to the weather service. Long Island is expected to get up to 7 more inches.
