“Where should I eat?” It’s a question we hear constantly, and one we spend a considerable amount of time — almost all of our time, actually — answering with as many different solutions as possible. There is no one perfect response to this question, of course, which is why we try to supply a variety of useful suggestions: Do you want to try a charming European-style inn in the West Village? An all-night Dominican burger bodega? Coconut-jelly pie from a brand-new Thai bakery?

There are so many ways to eat well in New York. We provide these recommendations in three main places: Our critic Matthew Schneier’s list of the 43 best restaurants in New York, our monthly guide to the most interesting under-the-radar restaurants in the city, and the Cheap Eats spectacular that we brought back earlier this winter. We think that, taken together, this trio of guides represents the widest possible survey of the best restaurants in New York, no matter what kind of experience you want.

We also realize that checking each of these three places every time you want to try a new restaurant can be a chore, which is why we’ve rounded up all of our recommendations from each of these stories into the Google Maps you see below. You can bookmark them, and as the guides are updated, the maps will be too. And New York subscribers will continue to be able to read everything on Grub Street to get the full story on every restaurant we think warrants your attention (and, crucially, dining dollars).
