NEW YORK (PIX11) — New York City schools will be in person on Tuesday following a “historic” storm that pummeled the five boroughs, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said.

“You can pelt me with snowballs when you see me,” Mamdani said during a press briefing on Monday.

Normal school programming and activities will return to their normal schedule on Tuesday.

“All schools will be open and fully operational tomorrow,” officials said. “It’s Ok to pelt me as well.”

Students got a traditional snow day on Monday while the five boroughs were slammed by the snowstorm that brought blizzard conditions and 2 feet of snow in some areas, including Staten Island.

Preliminary snow totals for New York and New Jersey have started to roll in from the National Weather Service for the blizzard in the tri-state area.

The blizzard is expected to wrap up by late Monday afternoon, but more snow could hit the area later this week.
