Two teens and a young woman have been arrested for murder for a botched robbery of a Bronx BMW driver, police said Monday.
Wanderlin Mateo and Darlin Sanchez, both 18, and Angelic Encarnacion, 23, were each charged Friday with murder, manslaughter, attempted robbery and gun possession for the Feb. 13 slaying. Mateo was also charged with an unrelated robbery.
The victim, Amir Ahmad, 26, was confronted 12:20 a.m. as he and a passenger sat in his car on Thwaites Place near Barker Ave., two doors down from Encarnacion’s home, police said.
According to the criminal court complaint, Mateo and Sanchez, plus two accomplices still on the loose, left Encarnacion’s apartment wearing masks and gloves and took the elevator down to the lobby, with Sanchez heard on surveillance video saying he was carrying a gun.
All four walked up to the BMW, with Mateo and Sanchez pulling guns and demanding the victim and his passenger get out of the car, the complaint says.
Instead, Ahmad hit the gas in an attempt to drive off and was shot.

Encarnacion was by that time in the lobby or her building. She went back to the apartment after the shooting, the complaint says.
Ahmad, struck in the chest, was rushed by medics to Jacobi Medical Center but could not be saved.
The crooks ran off, with Mateo and an accomplice the next night each allegedly pulling a gun and robbing two men, a barber and a customer, of their money and jewelry inside a Norwood barbershop on Bainbridge Ave., police said.
Mateo, who lives in Belmont, was charged with the barbershop robbery when he was arrested for the murder. His accomplice in the robbery is being sought.
Sanchez, who lives about six blocks from the murder scene, has one prior arrest, accused last year of selling drugs, and Encarnacion has no previous arrests.

Encarcion’s mother blamed one of the other arrested teens.
“I told him one day, please, don’t hang out with my daughter,” she said of that suspect. “That motherf–ker put my daughter in the wrong things! I knew it!”
All three suspects were ordered held without bail after being arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court.
The victim’s mother declined to comment when reached by the Daily News Monday.
Ahmad lived in Pelham Bay, according to cops. He was due in court Thursday following his arrest in December for driving with a suspended license, records show. He was also charged with marijuana possession, police said.
Ahmad was previously arrested for strangulation in a domestic violence incident in 2023 and for robbery in 2014, police said.
