NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — You can now get paid $30 an hour to shovel snow in New York City.
New York City is urgently hiring emergency snow shovelers to help remove snow and ice from public areas, including bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants, and step streets.
New York City was walloped with over a foot of snow as a blizzard tore through the region Sunday and Monday.
The pay was previously set to start at $19.14 an hour, increasing to $28.71 an hour after the first 40 hours worked in a week. But due to blizzard conditions, New York City is offering $30 an hour and $45 an hour after 40 hours.
