CITYWIDE — ROUGHLY 2,000 NEW YORK CITY residents had lost electrical power by midday Monday, as Con Edison crews worked through the blizzard to restore service. The numbers increased through the afternoon, with roughly 438 Brooklyn customers lacking juice around 11 a.m, expanding to 700 at 1 p.m. Roughly 470 Queens residents had lost power by 1 p.m., and about 1,502 were affected on Staten Island. Manhattan and the Bronx together had roughly 213 customers without electricity at that time.

According to the Mayor’s Office, Con Edison opened a Situation Room, mobilized additional crews, has mutual aid on standby, and will be working 24/7 to respond to any weather-related service issues. Customers can report outages and check restoration updates at ConEd.com, or by calling 1‑800‑75‑CONED (1‑800‑752‑6633).
