New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — Six local governments will receive a total of $180,000 in grants to support historic preservation projects.

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation announced that the funding comes from the federal Certified Local Government program.

The program connects local preservation efforts with state and federal resources and is run by each State Historic Preservation Office.

The Village of Cooperstown in Otsego County was awarded $40,000 to partner with the Landmark Society of Western New York and host the 2026 Statewide Preservation Conference at the Otesaga Hotel & Resort.

The additional areas to receive awards include the City of Kingston, the City of New Rochelle, the Village of Greenport, the Village of Springfield and the City of Syracuse.
