A 22-year-old man was shot by a stranger in what appeared to be an unprovoked burst of violence as he walked home in Brooklyn late Monday, cops and sources said.Â
The victim was suddenly blasted in the right arm as he walked in front of an apartment building on MacDonough Street near Howard Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 10 p.m., police said.Â
He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, authorities said.

He did not know the shooter, sources said – but it remained unclear Tuesday whether he was the intended target or an innocent bystander.Â
No arrests had been made by Tuesday afternoon and a suspect description was not available.Â
The violence came a week after a 23-year-old woman believed to be an innocent bystander was shot in the leg in front of a building in Ridgewood, Queens, police said at the time.
Four people – Thomas Tyler, 23, and three 17-year-old boys – were arrested in connection to that shooting, which was believed to be gang-related, police said.Â
