Body found floating near Queen Mary in Long Beach – NBC Los Angeles

An investigation is underway after a body was discovered floating near the Port of Long Beach Monday night.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded to the Port of Long Beach near Queensway Bay at around 10:30 to reports of a body in the water. 

When they arrived, officers found the body of a man with no obvious signs of trauma.

The Long Beach Fire Department and Los Angeles County Medical Examiner also responded to the scene.

The LA County Medical Examiner’s Office initial exam also found no signs of trauma and assumed responsibility for determining the victim’s identity and official cause of death, the department said.
