On October 23, 2025, at approximately 7:45 a.m., troopers from the New York State Police Monroe barracks responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision involving a yellow school bus on State Route 208 southbound at the State Route 17 Exit 130 on-ramp in the town of Monroe. 

The preliminary investigation determined that a 2023 Chevrolet yellow school bus was traveling south on State Route 208 when it attempted to make a left-hand turn onto the State Route 17 on-ramp at Exit 130. At the same time, a 2013 Honda traveling northbound on State Route 208 proceeded straight through the intersection with a green traffic signal and struck the front passenger side of the school bus.

The school bus was operated by 65-year-old male   from Middletown, NY. A 61-year-old male (corrected to male) passenger, also from Middletown, was on board at the time of the crash. The Honda was operated by a 31-year-old female from Monroe, NY.

All three individuals were transported to Garnet Health Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The 12 children onboard the school bus were not injured.

The investigation remains ongoing.
