The littlest parade
Sunday. Big fun will arrive in tiny packages at the eighth annual Dairy Block Petite Parade, which plays off Mardi Gras and features miniature floats built from a shoebox base, and pulled on wheels. Bonus points for coordinating team costumes and for creating “miniature parade throws,’ ” organizers wrote. “No glitter bombs, please!”
It’s free and open to anyone at Lower Downtown’s Dairy Block, where it will take place in the block’s heated alley, and The Maven’s Windsor Room, with post-parade entertainment, live music and more. Prizes will be handed out for Most Original Float, Best Team Theme and other categories.
The creative and crafty can sign up their floats at dairyblock.com/petite-parade, and anyone can show up from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, on the 1800 Block of Wazee St. Visit dairyblock.com for more details.
