Queen Evangeline LXXXVII Lily Claire Hutchison reigned over her royal luncheon on Monday, Feb. 16, at Le Pavillon in Lafayette. The beautiful event is a tradition that includes friends, family members, Krewe of Gabriel ladies, and the royal maids who serve on the queen’s court.

The luncheon is one of the most anticipated events of the year. Guests are treated to a gourmet lunch in a stunning room decorated in pastels reminiscent of Mardi Gras colors. For this occasion, the queen and family chose beautiful hues of pastel green and lavender with elegant flower arrangements on every table.

A highlight of the luncheon is the queen’s address to her royal court and guests. Hutchison recalled her days growing up with Mardi Gras traditions and festivities throughout her childhood. She also paid tribute to her family and members of the queen’s committee that helped her carry out her role as queen. She honored each or her royal maids for supporting her journey and making that journey so enjoyable.

As many know, that journey can mean nonstop activities for the queen. Hutchison, who is a former cheerleader and gymnast, still relies on her stamina from her tumbling background to help her keep up that pace. She also gets a lot of help from the fabulous queen’s committee. The ladies help make sure everything is perfect.

Congratulations on an incredible year Queen Evangeline LXXXVII. It was indeed one to remember.
