The mayor’s first “rental ripoff” hearings kick off Thursday.
The hearings will give tenants a chance to sound off about bad landlords.
The mayor’s office says agencies focused on tenant stability, housing quality, and consumer protection will attend. He discussed it during a winter storm update on Tuesday.
But the hearings are getting pushback from some landlord groups. Kenny Burgos, the CEO of the New York Apartment Association, joined NY1 anchor Shannan Ferry on “News All Day” to talk about how city landlords feel about these hearings.
If you want to attend one of the meetings, there is one for each borough.
