The Shops at Skyview kicked off the Year of the Horse with color, music, and a touch of magic as 500+ guests joined the Live Painting & K-Pop Party to welcome the new year together on Tuesday, February 18.
New York–based artist Lee Hyun Joon brought his three giant horse installations, “Auspicious Gallop,” to life while families, friends, and art lovers stepped in to add their own splashes of paint. Inspired by the Asian New Year tradition of pouring offerings for good fortune and protection, each drip of color became a shared wish for a bright year ahead. The vibrant horses––symbolizing energy, strength, and forward momentum––quickly turned into a collective artwork filled with community spirit.
With upbeat K-pop DJ sets, lively dance performances, complimentary snacks, and fun photo keepsakes, the afternoon was filled with smiles, creativity, and celebration as everyone rang in the new year on a joyful and colorful note. The artworks are now on view at The Shops at Skyview through the end of March, inviting visitors to stop by, take photos, and continue sharing in the colorful wishes and positive energy for the Year of the Horse.
