N.Y. amendment would address prisons on forest preserve

Gov. Kathy Hochul is urging passage of a constitutional amendment that would make it easier to address three closed prison facilities on forest preserve land.

Two prisons are within the Blue Line of the Adirondack Park; the third prison is in Saratoga County on Forest Preserve land.

Claudia Braymer, executive director of Protect the Adirondacks, told Capital Tonight’s Susan Arbetter that her organization supports the amendment with some tweaks.
