SCHROON, N.Y. (WRGB) — New York State Police say the body of a missing hiker has been found in the Adirondacks.

Troopers say Theodore Troth, of Florida, was found dead Tuesday on the south end of Oxshoe Pond in the town of Schroon.

Investigators say he began renting a cabin at Rowe’s Adirondack Cabins on Route 9 on January 25. He was last seen leaving the cabin to go hiking last week.

Troth’s body was taken to Glens Falls Hospital for an autopsy.

Police say there are no signs of foul play, and the investigation is ongoing.
