(WBNG) – The New York State boys bowling qualifiers were held Friday at Valley Bowling Center in Waverly. The top two teams from each class in sectionals, along with individual qualifiers, competed for a spot in the state finals in Syracuse, scheduled for March 13–15.
Bowlers and supporters packed the lanes as competitive games ran through morning and afternoon sessions.
Individual high game results
In Division 1, Ryan Staub of Maine-Endwell finished first with a perfect 300 game. Bentley Goodier of Corning took second with a 289, and Dominick Bernthon of Binghamton finished third.
In Division 2, Landon Butenko took first with a 278. Connor Kotski of Owego came in second with a 276, and Evan O’Hara finished third with a 269.
Team score results
In Division 1, Corning took first with a total pin count of 9,190. Maine-Endwell finished second with 8,790 pins.
In Division 2, Sidney/Unatego took first with 8,836 total pins. Waverly finished second with 8,741 pins.
