Section IV wrestlers advance after Day 1 of New York State boys wrestling championships

(WBNG) – Day 1 of the New York State boys wrestling championships in Divisions 1 and 2 is complete. Several Section IV wrestlers advanced to Day 2 across multiple weight classes.

Section IV Day 2 advancers by weight class

At 103 pounds, Drew Telesky of Sherburne-Earlville advanced. Declan McKee of Tioga moved on at 110 pounds.

Anthony Valls of CV advanced at 126 pounds. Gavin Nordberg of Unatego-Unadilla Valley-Franklin moved on at 132 pounds.

At 138 pounds, both Landyn Shaffer of Deposit-Hancock and Jayden Duncanson of Tioga advanced. Evan Shells of Lansing moved on at 144 pounds.

At 150 pounds, reigning state champion Maverick Beckwith advanced to the semifinals. Owen Clark of Lansing also moved on at 150 pounds.

Cooper Robinson of Waverly advanced at 157 pounds. Cadin Creely of Newark Valley moved on at 165 pounds. Quentin Getzin of Ithaca advanced at 175 pounds.

Zachary Schrage of Horseheads moved on at 185 pounds. Yanni Drpanlotls of Unatego-Unadilla Valley-Franklin advanced at 190 pounds.

At 285 pounds, Trey Parker of SV and Troy Beeman of Waverly both advanced.
