JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Manhattan Jaspers Men’s Basketball team (12-18, 8-11 MAAC) fell to the Peacocks of Saint Peter’s University (16-11, 13-6 MAAC) by a score of 75-65 inside Run Baby Run Arena on Friday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After falling into a 25-7 hole, and its largest deficit of the game just ten minutes in, Terrance Jones knocked down a second chance triple.
Four minutes later and looking to jump start the offense, Marko Ljubicic missed a three-point basket, before Fraser Roxburgh found some space after corralling his second offensive rebound. Then, it was Jones again from distance to the Jaspers’ deficit to as little as 12.
Down the stretch of the first half, Devin Dinkins joined the box score with his first made bucket, before capping off the first half with a floating jumper at the one second mark.
Dinkins continued his sharp shooting to open the second half, before Roxburgh put back his own second chance bucket in the restricted area.
Midway through the second half, the Jaspers posted six straight points off three consecutive possessions.
It was Jones again, who continued to put his team on his back with another three point basket to keep the game within reach.
In the double bonus were the Green and White, who nearly made all free-throws attempted down the stretch.
