NEW YORK CITY — A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a double stabbing that killed a woman and injured a teen boy over the weekend, police said.

The incident happened at an apartment at 956 Sherman Ave. in the Bronx on Saturday around 6:40 a.m.

Juan Rivas, 45, is accused of fatally stabbing 42-year-old Yesenia Hall in the back and neck. Hall’s 16-year-old son was also stabbed in the incident.

Hall and the 16-year-old boy were both taken to Lincoln Hospital. The 42-year-old woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The teen remains in stable condition.

Rivas has been charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of weapon and assault, police said.

The suspect and the woman were apparently in a relationship and had lived in the same apartment.

What led up to the deadly stabbing is not known at this time.

An investigation remains ongoing.
