ALBANY, N.Y. — It’s Maple Month in New York State.
Residents are encouraged to support local maple producers, with special Maple Weekends and events planned across the State.
According to the NYS Maple Producers Association, Maple Weekends will take place March 21-22 and March 28-29, 2026, offering tours, pancake breakfasts, and demonstrations at maple farms.
New York State produced 829,000 gallons of maple syrup in 2025 and remains second in the nation for maple production, with more than 2,000 maple sugar makers and the largest resource of tappable maple trees in the country.
Gov. Kathy Hochul’s proposed 2027 Executive Budget includes continued funding for marketing and research to help the maple industry grow.
Throughout March, maple farms will open to the public, giving visitors a chance to taste fresh syrup and learn how it is made.

It’s Maple Weekend in New York State, and in Oneida County, two bustling locations are demonstrating how this liquid gold transforms from sap to syrup.
In 2024, New York State’s maple production reached an impressive 846,000 gallons, an increase of 100,000 gallons compared to the previous year.
