New York could see a warmer-than-usual fall and early winter, with no clear trend in snowfall, according to NOAA’s 2025–26 outlook.

The Northeast, including NYC and the Hudson Valley, has a 33–40% chance of above-average temperatures through February. Central and western New York have equal chances for normal temperatures and precipitation.

NOAA doesn’t forecast snow totals. The Old Farmer’s Almanac expects colder conditions in central and southern New York but milder temps elsewhere.
