Retired Binghamton firefighter and paramedic and U.S. Army veteran Mike Bolles announced his candidacy for the 52nd State Senate District for the 2026 election on Monday.
Senate District 52 encompasses Cortland and Tompkins counties, as well as parts of Broome County.
“I’ve dedicated my life to helping others and showing up to fight the tough battles for our community and our country. I’m a retired U.S. Army Veteran, retired firefighter and small business owner of 100% American-made graphic apparel. I’m running for State Senate because our state government is in crisis and I feel called back to public service to help fix it,” said Bolles.
Bolles is a 22-year U.S. Army veteran and spent almost 22 years with the Binghamton Fire Department.
He’s also created Triple 1st Reponse, which specializes in “attitude apparel for people with attitude,” according to the Triple 1sts Response website.
Bolles, a Republican, will face incumbent Democrat Sen. Lea Webb.
