Per the name, the new spot serves aperitivi with an emphasis on seafood. This means a raw bar full of oysters topped with lime ginger granita, caviar tarts, and shrimp cocktail with horseradish cocktail sauce. Then there are pastas like fettuccine with Maine lobster and wild mushroom risotto; larger dishes include black cod with green tomatillo and a lemon-caper salsa, as well as dry-aged New York strip steaks.
Drinks include Americanos, the simple Campari, sweet vermouth, and soda water concoction, with variations such as the Americano with clarified Granny Smith apple juice, tomatillo water, and green chartreuse. Other drinks include tapped Mandarin spritzes, toasted coconut-mango Negronis, and the sweet Nonna’s Alexander. Reservations can be booked online for people looking to eat; otherwise, it’s walk-ins for drinks.
For Dante Aperitivo, co-owners and couple Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson took over what was restaurant and bar Nat’s on Bank, which opened in 2021 and closed in February. In 2015, the couple took over the then-century-old Caffe Dante in Greenwich Village, and then they expanded with Dante in the West Village in 2020, and added a location out in Los Angeles in 2023. The duo’s also working on another new restaurant and bar in Nolita with pizza.
Where to find new full English breakfasts for brunch
Greenwich Village British bistro Lord’s is getting into the brunch game this month as of early October. The weekend meal includes full English breakfasts with fried eggs, fried bread, sausage, bread pudding, bacon, mushrooms, and beans ($32); breakfast sandwiches with rarebit cheese, a hash brown, and the option of sausage or bacon ($20); plus sweeter stuff like the sticky toffee pancakes ($18) and banoffee French toast ($18). Even better: the restaurant’s popular Welsh rarebit cheeseburger ($26) is available during brunch with no limit (typically, there are only 12 served for dinner each evening). It’s available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with bar seats and tables open for walk-ins.
