A 35-year-old man has been hospitalized following a shooting in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx by St. James Park on Tuesday morning, March 3.
On Tuesday, March 3, at around 9.38 a.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting a person shot near Creston Avenue and East 192nd Street. “Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 35-year-old male had been shot in the abdomen by an unidentified individual,” the The victim was transported by private means to Bronx Care Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.”
The suspect fled in an unknown direction. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
The location is known for some prior shootings with cure violence group, Bronx Rises Against Gun Violence (B.R.A.G.) frequently hosting barbecues and other events in the area in efforts to build better community relationships and prevent further violence. More to follow.
Norwood News spoke to a group of local people who declined to be identified. They had not seen the shooting take place they said. Asked for their reaction, quoting Uncle Murda’s rap song, “Camron Voice,” one man said “Ni***s get shot every day.” Asked if he felt safe in the neighborhood, he said generally he did. Another member of the group said he didn’t understand why people just shot other people like that [in broad daylight] when there’s cameras everywhere.
