New York State comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and As You Sow have filed lawsuits at BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings and Chubb, respectively, over the companies’ moves to omit their shareholder proposals.
The resolution filed by the comptroller – who is sole trustee of the New York State Common Retirement Fund – called on the warehouse firm to conduct an assessment of the risks of deforestation associated with its private-label brands.
