The new film “The Bride,” a modern adaptation of the classic “Frankenstein” story, premiered in New York City last night.

While the movie is set in 1930s Chicago, it is part of a growing slate of productions being filmed in the city, showcasing New York as a hub for the creative industry.

Rafael Espinal, the new commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, joined “Mornings On 1” to discuss the premiere, the city’s role in supporting film productions, and efforts to make creative industry opportunities accessible to all New Yorkers.
