New York Giants inside linebacker Micah McFadden is not chasing a lucrative new deal in free agency this offseason.

Art Stapleton of USA TODAY reports that McFadden is committed to proving himself on a one-year deal after suffering a season-ending foot injury in Week 1 of the 2025 season.

McFadden was sidelined for the remaining 16 games last season after injuring his foot in the Giants’ 21-6 loss to the Washington Commanders on September 7, 2025. He is coming off the four-year, $4.01 million rookie contract he signed with the Giants in 2022.

The Florida native became a full-time starter for New York in 2023, starting all 14 games he played that season. McFadden recorded 4.0 sacks, one interception, and six passes defensed combined from 2023 to 2024.

The Giants had roughly $2 million in salary cap space entering the offseason. However, New York released defensive captain Bobby Okereke on Tuesday, reducing the team’s depth at inside linebacker while saving $9 million in cap space.
