Man Accused Of Slashing Neighbor To Death In NYC Building

QUEENS, NY — A man has been charged with killing his 75-year-old neighbor inside a Queens apartment building on Tuesday.

Dimitrios Manessis, 48, has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said on Wednesday.

The 48-year-old man is accused of slashing George Dourdounas in the neck inside 25-75 33rd St. in Astoria. The 75-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Manessis and Dourdounas were neighbors, according to police.

What led up to the incident is not known at this time, but police believe the two men may have had a long-standing dispute.

An investigation remains ongoing.
