NEW YORK (WABC) — The viral Pop Mart character Labubu will make its debut next month at the 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on an all-new float.
The Chinese toy company Pop Mart announced that it will have a “Friendsgiving in POP CITY” parade float featuring its iconic characters, including Labubu.
Other Pop Mart “friends” that will be part of the float include Skullpanda, Peach Riot, Dimoo, Molly, Duckoo and Mokoko.
“Our goal at Pop Mart is to light up passion and bring joy, and Macy’s Parade has been doing that for nearly a century,” said Larry Lu, President of Pop Mart, The Americas.
“Bringing our characters to life at such a storied event represents a significant milestone for us as we kick off our 15th anniversary. It is an honor to represent our team, artist partners, and the global POP MART community during one of the great traditions of the holiday season.”
As part of the festivities, Pop Mart will also be unveiling a special holiday pop-up at the Macy’s store in Herald Square. Attendees will have the chance to step into the world of Pop Mart and experience their favorite characters and products in real life.
Labubu and other Pop Mart figures have created a frenzy recently, leading some people to pay thousands for the collectible dolls.
