Parade founder Brendan Fay enjoyed the festivities.
The parade was dedicated to the memory of the late renowned Irish-American luminary Malachy McCourt who participated in many previous parades. Seen carrying the placard is his daughter Siobhan McCourt.
Program emcee Danny Dromm held up Malachy’s ashes during a solemn moment. Looking on were Councilwoman Julie Won and Parade co-chair Archley Prudent.
Commemorative plaques were presented to the three Grand Marshals (Ciarán O’Reilly, co-founder of the Irish Repertory Theatre; actor and author Kate Mulgrew; and Irish Repertory Theatre co-founder Charlotte Moore) and parade dignitaries by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. (2nd from right).
