Police are investigating a double stabbing in Crotona Park East that left a 12-year-old girl fighting for her life in the hospital.
Police arrested and charged 28-year-old Joshua Burnside with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and acting in a manner injurious to a child. Sources told News 12 everyone involved in this incident is family.
Police received a call to 1010 E. 173rd St. on Wednesday just before midnight. They arrived to the scene to find a 31-year-old woman stabbed in her stomach. She also had a slash wound on her face.
Police also found a 12-year-old girl with multiple stab wounds in her head, and a slash wound a bruising on her face.
A 5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl were also at the scene but were luckily unharmed.
EMS took the victims to the hospital. Three of them are expected to be OK, while the 12-year-old girl is in critical condition.
This comes as Mayor Eric Adams and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced a Domestic Violence Investigative Unit. They’re adding 450 cops dedicated to handling domestic violence cases across all the precincts in New York CIty.
