There are two all-new versions of Caldwell’s Long Live the Queen line heading to stores.
As part of Caldwell’s Crafted & Curated Series, which is aimed at releasing limited editions, there will be two new Long Live the Queens, both offered in a lone 6 x 60 gordo vitola. Interestingly, the blends are new and not the same as the original Long Live the Queen or the Long Live the Queen Maduro.
Like the Maduro, both the Long Live the Queen Forbidden Fruit Claro and Oscuro use a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, though one is classified as rosado and the other oscuro. The Claro uses an internal blend entirely of Dominican tobaccos, while the Oscuro uses a Sumatra binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Both internal blends different from the two regular production Long Live the Queens.
Long Live the Queen Forbidden Fruit Claro (6 x 60) — $16.50 (Box of 10, $165)
Long Live the Queen Forbidden Fruit Oscuro (6 x 60) — $16.50 (Box of 10, $165)
Production is limited to 400 boxes of each. The cigars were made at Tabacalera Mina del Rey in the Dominican Republic.
“Forbidden Fruit offers two unique 6″ × 60 presentations of Long Live The Queen,” said Robert Caldwell, the brand’s founder, in a press release. “Both feature Mexican San Andrés wrappers- one Natural and the other Maduro. We have never had a 60 in the original Queen lineup, but more importantly, these are two blends that fall into the Queen smoker’s palate, delivering a new experience that complements the Queen line. They are two unique blends for two unique brands. We hope you enjoy smoking them as much as we enjoyed making them.”
Laudisi Enterprises, which owns the Caldwell brand, expects to ship the cigars either late next week or during the week of March 16.
