Two Dairy Queen restaurants in Pictou County are shuttered.
One has been located on the west side of New Glasgow for generations.
The other is the more recent kiosk adjacent to a service station off the highway in Westville.

“The DQ stores in New Glasgow and Westville, Nova Scotia are in receivership and are temporarily closed. We are hopeful that the stores will reopen in the near term under new operators,” Dairy Queen’s Canadian spokesperson told the Advocate via email.
The note on the Westville location reads “DQ Fans, Both Westville and New Glasgow locations are closed until further notice. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you – Management.”
