New Yorkers frustrated with their landlords will get another chance to speak directly to city officials Thursday evening.

The Mamdani administration is hosting its second round of “Rental Ripoff” hearings in Long Island City, following last week’s session in Brooklyn.

What You Need To Know

Thursday night’s hearings take place in Long Island City, Queens at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

All tenants, including NYCHA residents, are invited to share complaints

City Hall says feedback from these hearings will inform the mayor’s new housing policy

More than 200 residents attended the Brooklyn hearing, sharing stories of unheated apartments, broken plumbing and ongoing maintenance issues.

Housing advocates had raised concerns that the city’s public housing tenants were being overlooked, but the city says all residents are welcome to testify tonight.

Both sessions in Queens — at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. — are full, but tenants can still submit complaints online.

City Hall says the information collected at these hearings will help shape Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s forthcoming housing plan.

The next public hearings will take place in Fordham in the Bronx on March 11, East Harlem on March 28 and North Shore on Staten Island on April 7.

New Yorkers can register to attend any of the next four public hearings by logging onto nyc.gov/RentalRipoff
