BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Manhattan Jaspers women’s lacrosse team (0-6), despite two goals from Sofia Best, dropped its non-conference contest against the Mountain Hawks from Lehigh (4-2) by a final score of 20-3 at Ulrich Sports Complex on Wednesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Ella Brunette registered the first shot on goal for the Jaspers, but Lehigh ended up tallying four goals by the 10 minute mark in the opening quarter.
Standing in goal, Sophie Pasnak clocked her first save as the quarter came to an end.
Now facing a free position chance, Pasnak picked up two more saves by the time of the halftime buzzer, as the Mountain Hawks took a double-digit lead into the locker room.
After adding another for insurance to start the third, Julia Kerr took advantage of the man-up opportunity, scoring her 13th of the young season.
Sofia Best later tacked on goal number two towards the end of the frame.
Now with a free position shot, Best capitalized for her second of the day.
STATS AND NOTES
Freshman attacker Sofia Best tallied her first two goals of 2026 during the afternoon.
Sophomore attacker Julia Kerr added the third to widen her team-lead of 13 scores.
Junior and Redshirt Sophomore midfielders Moira Marcozzi and Marissa Mongon each tacked on a point to their season totals with an assist.
Redshirt Junior defender Julia Harvey led the way in caused turnovers, compiling three.
Sophomore midfielder Meghan Wendler led the charge in draw controls, winning five.
Redshirt Junior goalkeeper Sophie Pasnak logged seven saves through a full 60 minutes.
NEXT UP:
Manhattan will continue its 2026 campaign on Saturday, March 7 when the Jaspers travel back to the Northeast to take on the Blue Devils from Central Connecticut State. Action is scheduled to take place from New Britain, CT starting at 1:00 PM and can be viewed on NEC Front Row.
