LONG ISLAND, NY — Ten Long Island hospitals have been ranked among the best in the state, with a Manhasset hospital in third spot, according to a Newsweek report.

These rankings can help people vet hospitals when making important choices about their health care, Newsweek said.
North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset is ranked in the 3rd spot, and first out of the Long Island hospitals.
Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park is ranked in the 5th spot, and second out of the Long Island hospitals.
Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook is ranked in the 7th spot, and third out of the Long Island hospitals.
Also on the Newsweek list from Long Island are Northwell Health – Mather Hospital, Glen Cove Hospital, and Huntington Hospital.
Newsweek shared its methodology for this year’s ranking, which includes hospital quality metrics and accreditation coverage, prior-year expert recommendations, and care quality and patient-reported outcome measures. More information on how they rank the hospitals can be found online.
