The New York Giants have their eyes on Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean as free agency approaches.
SNY’s Connor Hughes reports that the Giants have a significant interest in Dean, with only days remaining until the NFL’s free agency signing window opens.
McDuffie, a former first-team All-Pro cornerback in 2023, was recently traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Los Angeles Rams. The deal sent the Rams’ 2026 first-round pick, a fifth-round pick, a sixth-round pick, and their 2027 third-round pick to Kansas City.
Dean, by contrast, won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers during the 2020 NFL season. The 29-year-old had a strong 2025 campaign, recording a career-high three interceptions along with two forced fumbles, one sack, and nine passes defensed across 14 regular-season games.
The Giants’ need at cornerback is heightened by the fact that starting cornerback Cor’Dale Flott is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. His potential departure makes it essential for New York to consider competent options in the open market to bolster the position.
