The New York Jets are reportedly planning a massive overhaul of their quarterback room this offseason.

The strategy, revealed by SNY’s Connor Hughes, would mirror the aggressive approach taken by the New York Giants a year ago when they signed multiple veterans before drafting rookie Jaxson Dart.

Agents who met with the Jets at the NFL Combine believe the team is looking for a complete reset at the position to provide stability for the 2026 season.

While Kyler Murray was initially discussed as a top option following his release from the Cardinals, the ‘resounding belief’ around the league is that he is destined for the Minnesota Vikings.

Instead, according to the report, the Jets have turned their attention to Jacoby Brissett, Geno Smith and Carson Wentz.

Wentz is currently viewed as offensive coordinator Frank Reich’s ‘preferred option’ given their successful history together in Philadelphia and Indianapolis, despite past rumors of a soured relationship.

‘No one loves Wentz more than Frank,’ a source told SNY, clarifying that any previous resentment was between the player and management rather than the coaching staff.

Wentz, who spent last season with the Vikings, is expected to have multiple suitors, meaning the Jets will have to act fast if they want to land the 33-year-old former MVP candidate.

The team has also kept a close eye on Brissett in Arizona, though a trade remains ‘highly unlikely’ unless the Cardinals can secure Jimmy Garoppolo as a replacement.

Meanwhile, a potential reunion with Geno Smith has been discussed, though the 35-year-old is coming off a difficult 2-13 stint as a starter with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Jets are under immense pressure to fix the offense after a disappointing 2025 campaign that saw the team struggle with inconsistency under center.

By targeting two veterans, the front office is signaling that they no longer want to rely on a single unproven option or a developmental prospect as their primary backup.

The move would allow the team to remain competitive in the AFC East regardless of how they navigate the upcoming NFL Draft, where they could still look for a long-term solution.
