Sláinte, Brooklyn! St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner.
From neighborhood parades to casual pints of Guinness to late-night dance parties, Brooklyn has just about everything for a celebration that blends Irish tradition with the borough’s signature diversity.
Whether you’re looking to grab a pint of Guinness or hit the dance floor, here’s where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Brooklyn this year.
Parades bring Irish pride to Brooklyn streets
Brooklyn’s neighborhood parades remain at the heart of the holiday.
The 51st annual Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Day Parade will return to Park Slope, where Grand Marshal and PIX11 reporter Magee Hickey and other honorees will march around the neighborhood. The parade will begin on March 15 after Mass at Holy Name Parish.

Down south, the Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade draws large crowds each year, with bagpipers, step dancers and local leaders stepping off along Third Avenue. Grand Marshal Rev. Kevin P. Abels and other honorees will parade on March 22 at 1 p.m. on Third and Marine Avenues.
For a more intimate celebration, the 16th annual Gerritsen Beach St. Patrick’s Parade Celebration will take place on March 28 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission and first-come, first-served seating.
Pints, DJs and dance floors
Brooklyn’s bar scene is also leaning into the holiday spirit.
Williamsburg’s The Clonard bar will offer uniquely Irish specials, including warm apple pie, green mimosas, seasonal shots and the Irish Buck cocktail with Irish whiskey, lemon and ginger ale.

In Park Slope, acclaimed queer and Irish spot Ginger’s Bar will offer themed events to celebrate the holiday and their 26th anniversary. On March 13, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Irish band The Shanties and the Brooklyn Irish Dance Co. will perform throughout the evening. Tickets are $10, and limited door tickets are available.
For those looking to mix cultures, a St. Patrick’s Day party at Bushwick’s Dive Bar Brooklyn will host “Perrreo Garden,” a Latin and Reggaeton DJ event on March 14. Tickets are available on their Eventbrite.
Family shows and finish lines
For a more family-friendly celebration, Gerritsen Beach Library will host an Irish step dance show by the O’Malley Irish Dance Academy. The free show will take place on March 12 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

For runners, the annual Brooklyn St. Patrick’s 5K, 10K, and Half-Marathon offers multiple distances, giving participants a chance to celebrate with a medal rather than a pint. The race, on March 15, beginning at 9:30 a.m., will depart from Bay Ridge’s American Veterans Memorial Pier.
