Mary J. Blige is popping out in 2026. She has her Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story residency in Las Vegas in May, and in July, she’ll co-headline the 2026 Cincinnati Music Festival in Ohio. Before she jets off to these performances, Mary pops out with a pop-up performance on the Brooklyn Bridge in the visual for her latest single “More Than A Lover.”
The Brooklyn Bridge is the main character in the Nico Scandiffio-directed music video. The director starts the clip with quick shots of the world-famous bridge’s architecture and city views before his camera lands on Blige. She’s standing on a section of the bridge’s walking path to sing her melodic ode to the man who’s captured her heart while cars zoom by underneath her.
Scandiffio found inspiration from the music platform 4 Shooters Only and its From The Block performance series for the visual, which primarily features shots of Mary singing into a microphone dangling from the sky. Rocking her signature blonde tresses and designer threads, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul looks more like the Queen of New York with the skyline in the background.
Mary swats the mic away at the end of the song, but the camera keeps rolling. The final minute of the clip shows the legend interacting with fans and passersby who gathered to watch her. We see her greeting the people, taking selfies and getting mad love from the crowd.
