NEW YORK (WABC) — Four people are in custody after a smoke-generating “suspicious device” was thrown during a protest at Gracie Mansion on Saturday.

According to police sources, one person was arrested for disorderly conduct. Another person was arrested for deploying pepper spray.

Two other people are accused of throwing a suspicious device. The bomb squad is now investigating if the device was a smoke bomb, after some smoke started coming out of the device before the crowd was moved back.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

The crowd outside Gracie Mansion started dispersing on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, authorities are reviewing surveillance cameras to see if there was any other illegal activity and identify those responsible.

Police sources say the anti-Muslim rally was organized by a known agitator.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.
