ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Manhattan Jaspers women’s basketball team (11-20, 10-10 MAAC), despite a combined 25 points from Brianna Davis (15) and Colette Mulderig (10), fell in their MAAC quarterfinal matchup against the top-seeded Bobcats from Quinnipiac (25-5, 19-1 MAAC) by a final score of 59-43 inside Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Mulderig opened up the scoring roughly two minutes into the contest, followed by Elisa Solé Sanchez bringing the deficit back to two midway through the opening frame.
The Scranton, Pa. native finished the quarter by tying the contest at 10 apiece with eight seconds to go, followed by a converted free throw to take a lead after ten.
Alyssa Costigan kicked off the second and increased the Green and White advantage to four.
After Costigan knocked down another jumper to hold that lead, the Bobcats ripped off nine unanswered points to head into the halftime break with a three point lead.
Out of the locker room, Davis tallied her first three pointer of the afternoon to knot the game back up at 23-all.
Quinnipiac used seven straight points to leverage themselves the rest of the third, not relenting more than a five point edge.
Kristina Juric secured the first bucket of the final quarter, putting the margin back to ten in favor of the one seed.
Davis’ second made shot from beyond the arc proved to be the final for the Jaspers, ending their 2025-26 campaign.
