History will be made on Sunday, as one of either Queen’s University (20-13, 13-5 ASUN) or Central Arkansas (22-11, 15-3 ASUN) will secure their program’s first ever NCAA Tournament berth. The two schools will meet in the ASUN Title Game, with online sportsbooks siding with the Bears in the latest college basketball odds.
Both teams enter play in exceptional form, and I’ll be backing the favorite against the spread in what I’m expecting to be a high-scoring game.

The action gets underway at 2:00 pm ET from VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, in Jacksonville, FL, with ESPN2 providing the broadcast coverage.
The top seeded Bears dispatched Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday in the conference tourney semis 73-63, while the Royals took down #2 seed Austin Peay 90-83 to book their spot in the final.

No team in the ASUN is hotter than Central Arkansas in 2026. The Bears are 17-3 since the calendar flipped, winning 15 of their past 16 games. Two of those victories were over Queen’s, including a win last Saturday to clinch the conference’s regular season crown.
The Bears are led offensive by ASUN player of the year Camren Hunter, who poured in 23 points and grabbed 8 boards in Central Arkansas’ semifinal win. Hunter has splashed 30+ points in six of his past 12 games, and has previous big-time program experience playing at Wisconsin.

The Bears also get 14 points and a team-high 6 rebounds a contest from Freshman guard Ty Robinson, and the duo make up the best back court in the conference. Four other Central Arkansas players average at least 9 points per game, and their depth sets them apart. Their bench outscored FGCU’s 21-6 in the semis, and the team enters play having scored at least 81 points in 11 of 15 games.
Defensively, the Bears are mediocre, but they do have one elite trait. Central Arkansas racks up steals at a top-27 mark in the country, and those extra possessions help them build margin and pull away from their opponents.
Key Statistical Metrics: Queen’s University vs Central Arkansas
Queen’s meanwhile, has won six of its past seven games, and eight of 10 since the start of February. They grade out higher than the Bears in offensive efficiency, averaging over 84 points per contest. Each of their top-six rotational players score in double-figures, led by senior guard Nasir Mann.
Fellow guard Jordan Watford led the Royals with 21 points in their semifinal victory, but Queen’s problem isn’t scoring, it’s keeping the ball out of their own hoop.

The Royals are bottom-15 in the entire country in scoring defense, and rank 299th in opponent effective field goal percentage. They struggle to defend all levels of the court, and they don’t do themselves any favors by putting their opponents on the free throw line 24 times per outing.
To make matters worse, they don’t rebound the ball well, ranking 249th in defensive rebounding percentage, and they struggle to generate turnovers.
The extra possessions Central Arkansas will get from crashing the glass, along with the bounty of free throw attempts they’ll earn is what ultimately will sink Queen’s on Sunday. I’m expecting the Bears to complete the trilogy with a third straight win over the Royals, earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament champion odds bracket for the first time.

High scoring games seem inevitable when Queen’s is on the floor, as their combination of efficient offense and terrible defense has led six of their past eight contests to sail over the total.
Central Arkansas can certainly accommodate and thrive in that style of game, just like they have in their previous two meetings with the Royals. Those contests averaged 176.2 points, and with both offenses clicking at the moment, another high-scoring game is on deck.
