AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The RIT baseball team erupted for nine runs in the sixth inning and received a dominant combined pitching effort to defeat Russell Sage, 14–1, on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
RIT opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning, including an RBI single from senior Jarin Moses and an RBI fielder’s choice from senior Charlie Slaymaker.
The Tigers added three more in the second, aided by a wild pitch, an RBI groundout from graduate student Max Matteucci, and another wild pitch that brought home senior Trent Rapp.
Rapp tripled twice (first inning, sixth inning) and doubled in the second, finishing with four hits, including a triple to open the sixth-inning rally.
Matteucci delivered four RBIs, including a two-run double in the sixth that broke the game open.
Moses added three RBIs, highlighted by an RBI double in the sixth that capped the nine-run frame.

GAME NOTES
Rapp finished 4-for-5 with four runs, two triples, a double, and an RBI.
Matteucci went 2-for-4 with four RBI, including a double.
Moses drove in three while going 2-for-3 with a double, walk, and hit-by-pitch.
Isaac Braegelmann, a junior, reached base four times (single, three walks) and scored twice.
On the mound, senior right-hander Jack Luensmann struck out 11 over 5.0 innings, allowing just two hits and one run to earn the win.
RIT posted 13 hits and drew seven walks while being hit by pitches three times.
The Tigers’ pitching staff allowed only two hits and struck out 13, while the defense turned a 1-6-1 double play in the seventh.
RIT improves to 5–5 overall.
