Gas Prices in New York Rise 39.7 Cents to $3.36 Per Gallon

UTICA, N.Y. — Gas prices are rising sharply across New York and the rest of the country.

The average price in New York has increased by 39.7 cents per gallon in the last week, reaching $3.36 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of more than 6,000 stations across the State.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline has gone up by 51 cents per gallon in the last week, now averaging $3.45 per gallon.

GasBuddy reports that the U.S. strikes on Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz could push prices in many states up by another 20 to 50 cents per gallon this week.

The national average is now approaching $4 per gallon.
