News 12’s Natalie Hernandez tells News 12 that the NYPD instructed them to leave Carl Schurz Park in Manhattan just after 12 p.m. on Tuesday.
This comes just days after an explosive was thrown near Gracie Mansion, just one city block away from this park.
Parkgoers watched in awe as helicopters flew overhead and police put up yellow tape near the dog park.
About eight police vehicles and an emergency services vehicle arrived within minutes.
The park was packed with dogwalkers and pickleball players, as temperatures were higher than normal on Tuesday.
The NYPD has no information about this investigation at this time.
